Purpose

Internships providing early career opportunities to address the talent gap in information technology and healthcare

Working to ensure that talent supply meets the current and emerging demands of the healthcare IT industry, our Workforce Development team hosts a long-standing student internship program in partnership with our family of companies, including the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) and Velatura.

Student interns provide a fresh perspective on healthcare issues and create innovative solutions that help transform the healthcare industry.

Internship Program Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age

Be an enrolled student

Be legally eligible to work in US and off-campus

Pass a criminal background check

Have reliable internet access and a productive space to work from home

Be available to participate in the program for a minimum of 2 consecutive semesters

Be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week within business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time Zone. Note that the maximum hours per week is 29.

Apprenticeship Program

Providing on the job training paired with related technical instruction, or classroom training, this program is structured to teach specific skills to fill in-demand jobs, provide mentorship, and skills development opportunities for people who wish to advance within the field.

More formal than an our internship program, due to the related technical training and certifications, participants in this 12-month program are paid to learn and work a minimum of 20 hours/week alongside our full-time team.
