Where Code Transforms Care
Powering the Interoperability Community
Interoperability Institute’s mission is to enable organizations and communities to harness the benefits of interoperability at scale.
A non-profit health information technology (HIT) Innovation Incubator
“Working with clients that complement our own health IT development teams helps to move some of these open source assets forward for the industry to be able to use and reuse to further interoperability. I always go back to the mantra of Nelson Mandela: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’”
Mary Kratz, Interoperability Institute Executive Vice President

A shared resource to create a powerful knowledge network
As the world moves to the “cloud,” the interoperability and integration of systems, services, and content outside the walls of every organization becomes a critical success factor. This brave new frontier is highly complex and involves a myriad of technical, financial, people, policy, and process issues.
Our vision is to create the focal point for all related healthcare interoperability innovation using open-source reference implementations organized through a virtual lab.
